One of our several Community Service projects is helping at the Cultivating Inclusion Farm (CIF) on Wednesdays. CIF provides employment opportunities for adults with special needs while they participate in a gardening experience. TVGC provides financial help, equipment and supplies, as well as, volunteers for this project.
The Club is committed to undertaking beautification projects to benefit local communities, frequently in partnership with local governments and businesses. Our current project is a Native Plant garden at Sam Hicks Monument Park in Temecula. We have also dedicated a tree in the garden in memory of Judy Sundermann.

Club members continue to generously support the Penny Pines Reforestation Program to maintain existing trees and improve wildlife habitat or replant burned or otherwise damaged forests in National Forests in Southern California. This is done through monthly donations and gifts to honor special people and in memory of loved ones. We have received awards from CGCI for our generous donations and the number of plantations purchased in a calendar year.
The Club will continue its successful Grow It and Give It program which started in 2009. Members donate excess produce from their gardens or bring canned and packaged food to our monthly meetings. All donations are delivered to the food pantry to help those in need.
The TVGC also sponsors a breakfast annually at the pantry and has made Easter baskets for the children.
In 2021, Jane Payne was speaking with Ken Dodd of the Lake Village H.O.A. in Temecula about the National Wildlife Federal (NWF) Wildlife Habitat and Certification. Well, Ken took the information and went further by creating a Wildlife Habitat Committee and made preserving wildlife a priority. Programs have been created for adults including workshops and gardening seminars and a “Kids Wildlife Habitat Club” with fun activities to teach the importance of protecting and preserving wildlife.
In April 2022, Lake Village had their inauguration of their Outdoor Wildlife Habitat Amphitheater. The TVGC made a donation to help them continue their efforts of caring about our planet. In 2024, we presented a donation to support the club's efforts in teaching children about pollinators and their essential habitats. We also shared various age-appropriate Master Gardener resources regarding different pollinators and the specific needs of bees and plants.

San Diego River Mission Valley Park Gardens
In 2023, we contributed toward gardens and signage at the San Diego River Mission Valley Park Gardens. The first of the projects was a sensory garden.
The Pollinator Garden was the newest section at Rose Haven Heritage Garden with a Global climate change message of caring for the earth by incorporating land-use practices known as permaculture, increasing habitat, improving soil, air, water, productivity, and health. This garden will include bird, butterfly, bee, insect, and bat habitats attracting these pollinators to the many SoCal native plant species that will be showcased.
TVGC was happy to support the Temecula Valley Rose Society is creating a Pollinator Garden at the Rose Haven Heritage Garden. The objective was and is to utilize native plants that attract native pollinators because they then benefit gardens, farms, and vineyards throughout the Temecula Valley. The Pollinator Garden will strive for conservation and preservation of both plants and pollinators.
In 2022, we presented the Riverside County Master Gardeners $1,000.00 to support the School Gardening Initiative. This was made in the memory of Chris Curtis, for her passion for School and Youth Gardening and contributions to the TVGC and Master Gardener programs.
In 2024, we presented the Riverside County Master Gardeners $1,000.00 to support the School Gardening Initiative. This was made in the memory of Janice Rosner, for her passion for School and Youth Gardening and contributions to the TVGC and Master Gardener programs.
One of the new major projects the club has focused on is the publication of a series of Garden Guide booklets for local residents providing gardening information specific to the Temecula Valley. The first booklet is a guide to selecting the best trees for residential planting and the second booklet is on shrubs. Our third booklet is on Succulents and we are currently working on a fourth booklet on Pollinators and the native plants to support them.
Booklets are available for sale at our meetings and events. They are $5.00 each.
